(There's now a 2016 event - for more information - visit our events shop)
The Uke Express is back! This hugely successful event from 2014 is steaming into view again this November! Not only that, it is bigger and better than before! We take one classic steam engine, plenty of vintage rolling stock and three hundred and fifty ukulele players for a day out to remember on the North Yorkshire Moors Railway.
Based in Pickering, North Yorkshire, this fantastic steam train travels across the picturesque moorland landscape, taking about an hour and a half to reach the lively and lovely seaside town of Whitby. Here we have an extended lunch break, with three hours free time to get some fish and chips and head to the sea front afterwards for a 'Big Strum & Singalong', led by the madcap duo, Feckless & Fuddle. Then, back to Pickering, singing all the way using Uke Express songbooks that will be distributed nearer to the event.
If you want to extend the Uke Express into a weekend for even more great memories, we also have two nights of ukulele concerts from great acts for those who choose a train and gig package. We have two venues in Pickering which will fit half of our Uke Express passengers in each. So, we're running a Saturday and Sunday concert in each of the venues, so everybody sees both lineups!
For many passengers, last year's Uke Express was one of the year's highlights. This year there is more music, more uke players, more songs and more fun than ever!
