Baton Rouge UR4-TCE Left Handed Cutaway Electro Tenor Ukulele
For a left handed ukulele player, you may often find yourself with a choice of ukes aimed at right handers - and swapping the uke strings over in order to make it playable for you. Often this is very successful, but there's no doubt about it - the fact a left hander can play that uke is a happy co-incidence. But not so with this Baton Rouge UR4-TCE, which is specifically made for those with a dominant left hand (nothing to do with 50 Shades of Grey!)
The cutaway allows access to the upper end of the fretboard, but it crucially on the correct side of the uke for you do that as a left hander. Plus, the active Shadow preamp for the undersaddle piezo pickup is positioned correctly for those of a leftie persuasion (meaning left handers - not Guardian readers!)
To cap this nice package off, everything else about the uke is really good for the price too. A solid spruce top, maple binding, gloss mahogany laminate on the back and sides, decent geared tuners and Aquila strings. It has a bold, clear voice with great clarity - something which transfers well through to the amp when plugged in.
In short, the Baton Rouge UR4-TCE is a great, and much needed choice for left handed ukulele players.
