This Kala KA-TE-C takes the really decent KA-T model and gives it a bit more flair with the addition of a cutaway and a decent pre-amp and pickup.

It is ideal for a serious beginner looking for a decent quality model, together with the option of using the uke through an amplifier. The acoustic tone is strong, with good volume and a mellow edge to the tone, although not restrained and boxy like some laminate instruments can be.

The preamp controls on the side of the KA-TE-C has tone and volume controls, as well as an integrated tuner. It is the same unit that Kala include on their more expensive models and it is reliable and gives a really decent amplified tone. I've heard them in action in ukulele festivals through good PA systems and they're definitely at the better end of the spectrum for such units.

The KA-TE-C has Aquila strings, robust geared tuners and a strap button fitted as standard.
