Cordoba 24B Solid Spruce Top Baritone Ukulele
I like this Cordoba 24B. It’s a good uke. It’s not a bad uke. It’s not an amazing uke, but at the price it’s definitely a good baritone ukulele. There’s good value options at the cheaper price range, and others where the price is quite high but they’re obviously great quality - but the Cordoba 24B sits in a nice slot on its own as a baritone ukulele with a solid top, that has something about it in terms of decoration, and sounds nice too.
I didn’t mean that to sound like damning with faint praise, but just a realistic opinion that at this money its an excellent option. It has a nice, tactile satin finish, some nice purple heart binding and laminate spalted maple on the back and sides, and faceplate of the headstock. I think the look is quite harmonious - enough to see for interest but not so much it’s over the top.
With that satin finish, the Cordoba 24B has quite a woody tone, it’s dry and crisp in the trebles, with resonant bass from the low D and G strings. It feels quite versatile, with enough pep for melodies and enough drive and richness for nice chord work. A bit of an all rounder I’d say.
The nut is 38mm, and Aquila strings are fitted, with geared tuners too. There’s no gig bag, but that and other common extras like strap buttons can be easily added (scroll to the bottom of the page for those add-ons).
