The Flight Nora is a baritone ukulele that’s designed to work with steel strings, tuned DGBE. Following the successful release of the mango top Maia ukulele, Flight brought out the Nora, with a solid spruce top - which has a bold, deep tone, but more pep, and ‘zing’ than the Maia, with more of a chime and a touch more volume, influenced by the spruce top and it’s bright sounding qualities. Personally, I am a Nora man rather than a Maia man, just because I like my brightness and melodies (maybe someone who predominantly plays chords would be different).

The Nora has a solid spruce top that’s finished with a black gloss - which, as you can see from the photos, is very shiny indeed. This is set of nicely by the soundhole decoration and headstock veneer, while the laminate mahogany body looks fine in combination too.

The nut width, as is common with most baritones, is 38mm, and while the rest of the uke is gloss - the back of the neck is satin. It comes with a nicely padded gig bag and is equipped with a Double C1U pickup, with tone and volume controls just inside the soundhole.

It’s certainly a bit different, with a much more guitar-like sound than a regular baritone, although having 4 strings rather than 6 does make it easier to play if you ask me!

At the bottom of the page are a number of optional extras. These are common to all ukes on the site, but you can pretty much ignore them! The Flight Nora has a bag already, comes with a low G ( and a low D for that matter), and its bigger bottom makes it not suitable for a standard hard case. It’s jack socket also works as a strap button, so you might want to add a second one, if you’re someone who likes two on the instrument, as opposed to someone who prefers to tie the end of a strap around the headstock, like me.
