Millar CO-600 All Solid Cypress and Ovangkol Baritone Ukulele
This is the new Millar CO-600 baritone ukulele. At present it is a prototype pending full production and therefore not available quite yet. But if you are interested in getting an email when they are ready, then you can fill in this stock enquiry form.
Millar’s new foray into the baritone scale includes this CO-600 model, which is made from solid Taiwanese cypress, paired with attractive solid ovangkol back and sides. This darker/lighter combination is quite familiar, but a little more visually appealing than a standard cedar and rosewood combination, with both the cypress and the ovangkol sporting some nice patterns and grain (especially the ovangkol, it has to be said).
The tone is rich and resonant, naturally strong in the bass areas with the DGBE baritone tuning, but sweet and mellow in the trebles, with enough bite for melodies, but a laid-back, relaxed sort of feel. It has plenty of volume, and responds well when progressing further up the neck, retaining more volume there than a cheaper baritone might.
The CO-600 from Millar is fitted with D’addario Titanium strings, with a 38mm nut width and a tactile satin finish, together with very smooth-feeling closed geared tuners.
For common extras, like cases and strap button fitting, scroll down to the bottom of the page. The Millar CO-600 baritone ukulele doesn’t come with a case or strap buttons, but you can add them simply below.
