Coming to the UK in Quarter 3 of 2022 is aNueNue’s great value, solid top colour series ukuleles, now in tenor size.
A small number will be available in Europe in 2022, with the majority of those heading to World of Ukes. These are great value instruments, coming in at under £200, with a nice gig bag too. They look great, but it’s not all about the looks… under the funky finish is a very good, neatly made and great sounding uke.
If you’d like to hear when they are available (as early supply will be very limited) complete the form below. And, if you could choose your favourite colour it would be helpful to me when ordering in future, if I know the ones people like the most!
If you complete your details, I’ll let you know first, when they all arrive. There’s no obligation to buy one, and I won’t send you any other emails about anything else.
In UKE Magazine 31, you can be in with the chance of winning a Snail S60C concert ukulele. In order to go into the draw, you need to correctly identify the mystery riffs in the magazine. Choose the correct answer from the multiple choice questions below.
(Note - due to an error on the form, one question was briefly incorrect. Anyone who entered before this was rectified will be entered regardless of their answer to the question that was wrong).

In UKE Magazine Issue 31, there’s an arrangement of Hard Times Come Again No More from James Hill. Below you can listen to James playing through this piece so you can see what it’ll sound like once you’ve had a good practise or two!

As reported in UKE Magazine Issue 31, Risa have created a sopranino electro ukulele, modelled on their Uke Solid series of instruments. You can win with ukulele, by purchasing a lot for 10 Euros, with all proceeds going towards helping people caught up in the Ukrainian conflict.
You can purchase a place in the draw (thereby making a donation), here: https://www.ukulele.de/detail/index/sArticle/562
(Note, Risa is a German company and the website is in German, but there’s a little UK flag in the top right corner if you want to change the language to English)

UKE Magazine Awards 2022
Our awards this year focus on instruments, with expanded categories to allow you to choose what you think are the best ukes on the market. In each category, we’ve made four nominations. But, if there’s a different brand that you really love that’s not on the list, on the entry form you can submit a vote for that instead, by letting us know what you want to go for.
The entry form below asks for your email address - which will be used for nothing apart from informing you if you’ve won a prize (in this case a Risa 3D printed uke), and to verify that you are a UKE Magazine reader (entries are only possible from readers to prevent any social media efforts to skew the results).
Taiwanese educator and ukulele performer David Chen includes his arrangement of Love Me Tender in UKE Magazine issue 30. He made this video to accompany his piece and explain the Hawaiian two-fingerstyle techniques used with it.
Here is Choan Gálvez demonstrating the piece he wrote and included in UKE Magazine Issue 30, Brevity for Pam, for baritone ukulele (or regular uke with a low G)
Issue 30’s cover star Abe Lagrimas Jr.’s tune, Mahana, is available in tab format in the magazine. Here’s a video of Abe playing the piece himself.
In Issue 30, Phil Doleman discussed the chord pattern for Rhythm Changes, and its use in a multitude of jazz tunes.
In this video playalong, you can follow the chords from the magazine on screen, with a jazz ensemble accompanying you!
In UKE Magazine issue 30, Mike Haysom explains swing notes. At the end, he set an exercise for you to try at home. This is Mike’s video of that exercise, so you can check how it is supposed to sound, and if you’ve put the theory to the test correctly.
In Issue 29 of UKE Magazine, you can win a Kala KA-FMTB-C ukulele. Answer the questions below correctly and you’ll be in with a chance of being drawn out of the hat on 1 May 2022.
