'Oli X1SP-CCR All Solid Cedar and Rosewood Concert Ukulele
This excellent ‘Oli concert uke uses a classic combination of solid cedar for the soundboard, paired with solid rosewood for the back and sides. It’s classic for a reason, delivering power, projection, interesting overtones, fullness and even some soft warmth to the mix. It’s rich and lively. It chimes and sings. It’s really really good! It sounds more tenor-like me perhaps, and certainly would beat many a tenor in terms of volume as it kicks out some sound if strum or pick with some power!
The X1SP-CCR from ‘Oli has an impressive list of features and visual accompaniments, with Gotoh UPT rear facing geared tuners, Uke Logic fluorocarbon strings, flamed maple binding, rope inlays, a tightly grained top, a rosewood rosette, maple fingerboard binding and maple inlays in the rosewood faced headstock. Interestingly the nut width is a little wider than most concerts at 37mm. So it sounds like a tenor and wouldn’t put off most tenor players with that roomy nut.
This uke also comes with an excellent hard case.
This is one of the loudest concert ukuleles I have heard but that volume is controlled. If you play it gently, it has a subtle, beautiful voice. But it has volume to spare if you need it. That sound is full, fat and thick, smooth and expressive. I will stop now before I have to go and find a thesaurus to find more ways to describe it!
At the bottom of the page you’ll find some optional extras you can easily add to the ‘Oli X1SP-CCR concert ukulele, like strap buttons or a low G.
