What is going on here, this price, a solid top, a gorgeous look, a cutaway and a great gig bag? There's a reason I get excited by Uma models and this concert uke, the UK-17SC really gets my juices pumping. (Sorry, that came out more gross that I intended!) The point is, the value is so good it makes me say silly things!

The sound has a lovely chiming effect, with plenty of sparkle from the clear, light-feeling fluorocarbon strings. Underneath this there is some nice body and depth from the solid mahogany.

Given mahogany is a fairly plain looking wood, the addition of a well executed sunburst finish, in gloss, is a really nice touch. The tuners are good, and quite petite, while the average 35mm nut is 'normal' and unchallenging. There's a nice grey padded gig bag too that just adds to the value.

The UK-17SC looks the part, yes, but crucially it sounds great and plays well too.
