The pieces were written by Turlough O’Carolan (1670 – 1738), a blind Celtic musician and composer in Ireland. Carolan is considered by many to be Ireland’s national composer. The word “Planxty” means “paid for”, and each little tune is named after the person who commissioned it. These simple arrangements are for ukulele with low G string, and are intermediate standard.
