DISCONTINUED World of Ukes Zedro II Limited Edition Concert Ukulele
I am discontinuing this model to concentrate on a new, premium brand that is in the pipeline, so am clearing my remaining stock at a bargain price.
The World of Ukes Zedro is a recreation of my first foray into my own brand ukuleles - a re-boot of the popular Omega Zedro from 2014. Using the same factory and materials, this concert instrument has a solid cedar top and laminate zebrawood back and sides.
The original Zedro uke was very well liked, but now, several years on, some of them have suffered a bit of wear to the cedar top - so this new edition has a durable and attractive gloss finish. Also, a bit more has been added to the looks, as the original was fairly plain. There's a handsome soundhole rosette added, mahogany binding either side of the neck, and a rosewood cap on the headstock with an etched World of Ukes logo on the inlaid maple.
The Zedro II concert ukulele has very good quality Korean made open geared tuners, an ebony bridge, compensated saddle and 35mm bone nut. Position markers appear on the fretboard and down the side of the neck itself. It feels light and well balanced, and familiar given the average nut width and neck profile.
The sound is extremely clear, with some nice brightness which ebbs away to some rounded depth and pretty harmonics. It has plenty of volume as well as good versatility, adapting well to different styles.
This ukulele is a genuine limited edition. No doubt I'll do something else when they're gone - but it won't be one of those limited editions that is continually available!
