Now in its 11th year, the Big House ukulele weekend is taking place north of the border for the first time, at the South Beach Hotel in Troon, Ayrshire. It takes place from the 6th to the 8th of February, with a programme of concerts, big sing and strum sessions, open mic, interactive ukulele quiz, raffle and lots of good food! There will also be an on-site World of Ukes shop, plus exclusive use of the entire hotel.

Tickets cost £159 per person. This excludes accommodation but includes:

Friday evening welcome strum / Friday evening 3-course meal / Friday evening performance from Warehouse of Thieves / Interactive ukulele quiz / Saturday morning workshops (x 2) / Lunch / Open Mic / Big Sing & Strum session / Saturday afternoon performance from Ukulele Saz / Saturday evening 3-course meal / Saturday evening performance from The Ukulele Uff Trio / The Legendary Late Night Speakeasy with Tim Smithies, with music, comedy and magic / Sunday morning farewell strum.

You are welcome to attend for the weekend without accommodation if you are local to the event, to arrange your own accommodation elsewhere in the Troon area, or book a room at the South Beach Hotel itself. (SORRY - SOUTH BEACH HOTEL ACCOMMODATION IS NOW FULL)

To book accommodation at the venue, call the hotel directly on 01292 312033 and ask to book for the ukulele weekend. This will give you a better rate of £60 per person per night bed and breakfast, based on two sharing, or £85 pppn for single occupancy. (SORRY - SOUTH BEACH HOTEL ACCOMMODATION IS NOW FULL)

(Single Occupancy: Please note, there are no single rooms at the hotel and only a quarter of double rooms are available for single occupancy - this is just for practical purposes - we need a certain amount of people to make the event viable and demand for single rooms always outstrips supply. If single occupancy is unavailable, it is not possible to pay for a double room and use it with single occupancy - we have to get a certain number of tickets sold for the event to be viable - to go ahead we have to have a number of rooms sold for two people, with two event tickets purchased).

Please note, if you have been to a Big House event before, this one is slightly different because the venue is a little smaller (90 people in the function room). The main room will be set out with chairs in rows, and lunch and dinner will be taken separately in the hotel’s conservatory restaurant.

Interest in this event is extremely high. If, as expected, it sells out rapidly, we will look to put another, different programme on in Autumn 2026.
