Now in its 12th year, the Big House ukulele weekend is taking place north of the border for the second time, at the 4-star luxury Seamill Hydro Hotel, in West Kilbride, Ayrshire. This is a stunning location right on the beach, with fantastic food, facilities and beautiful function rooms for our event, with views across to the Isle of Arran.

It takes place from the 26th to the 28th of February, with a programme of ukulele workshops, concerts, big sing and strum sessions, open mic, raffle and lots of good food! There will also be an on-site World of Ukes shop.

Tickets cost £199 per person. This excludes accommodation but includes:

Friday evening welcome strum / Friday evening 2-course meal / Friday evening performance / Saturday morning workshops (x 2) / Lunch / Open Mic / Big Sing & Strum session / Saturday afternoon performance / Saturday evening 3-course meal / Saturday evening performance / The Legendary Late Night Speakeasy with Tim Smithies, with music, comedy and magic / Sunday morning farewell strum.

You are welcome to attend for the weekend without accommodation if you are local to the event, or to arrange your own accommodation elsewhere in the West Kilbride area, or book a room at the Seamill Hydro itself, with its 80 bedrooms.

This is a 4-star venue which has a brilliant reputation and is busy year round, so… it’s not a budget hotel. We have secured a flat rate for this party, which works out at £97 per person per night, based on two sharing. That includes a really fantastic breakfast and use of the spa facilities. Please do remember to ask for the ukulele weekend, as at busy times it can be up to 30% more expensive - so do ensure you get our flat rate for the Big Hoose!

This event takes place across three function rooms we have secured, which will amply accommodate our party in cabaret style. We have three different spaces to accommodate different activities, including enjoying the varied and dishes prepared for us by the hotel chefs, with different choices each day. The hotel is an extremely popular wedding venue and we are choosing from the catering team’s wedding menus - so we’re talking good stuff! Each of our event spaces has its own bar too.

This is a brilliant, luxurious weekend. The venue is beautiful. The organisation is slick (we’ve been doing it since 2015). The acts are talented and varied. The food is very high quality. The views are stunning. Our tech team have the latest sound equipment for a professional production. It’s a ukulele residential weekend you can spoil yourself with!
