Kiwaya U-Trip-01 Sopranino Ukulele
Just in case a soprano ukulele isn’t small enough to travel with, Kiwaya have brought out the U-Trip-01, a compact sopranino ukulele, in their student series range.
This cute little instrument packs plenty of punch, with a bright, zingy tone and really impressive volume given its small size. There’s a bit of decoration with a nice transfer on the headstock, but otherwise, it follows the rest of the Kiwaya student series, in looking fairly plain - but crucially, being playable and in possession of a good tone for the money.
The sopranino ukulele is equipped with a basic gig bag, and has an overall length of 47cm and a scale length just under 30cm (an average soprano uke scale would be about 38.5mm, for comparison)
As with the majority of sopranino ukuleles, while it can be played with standard uke tuning, it projects a bit better when tuned up a little. There’s a video demo of the Kiwaya U-Trip-01 if you click additional info below, and there I’ve used A,D,F#,B tuning.
