Millar TM-210LL Long Neck Soprano Ukulele (Low G)
This is an all solid mahogany long neck soprano, made in Taiwan by Millar. It's neatly put together, well finished and very tactile, with some nice decorative features too to make it look very smart.
Separating the nicely patterned solid mahogany back and sides is some black and white purfling and cream binding, with a matching soundhole rosette. The very smooth rosewood fingerboard also has the binding up the sides, as does the mahogany headstock. The fingerboard is very nicely shaped as it meets the soundhole too.
This ukulele has a soprano body and a concert scale length, and is supplied with a wound low G (although it would suit a high G equally well). The strings are D'addario J53C, which highlight the mahogany warmth with a gentle and smooth tone.
The TM-210LL is a very playable ukulele, with a slick, low action. The nut is an average 35mm and despite the long neck, it feels well balanced when you play.
When you think of solid mahogany you tend to think of warmth and richness, and that's certainly the case with this Millar long neck soprano (particularly when accompanied with its low G). Despite all that warmth, the note separation is good and when picked, the trebles stand out with pleasant clarity.
