The Uma UK-20SS has plenty going for it, looking smart under the black stain, while sounding great from the all solid mahogany body, which makes it excellent value at this price range. For this money you’d often get a solid top at best, but more often fancy looking veneer and a laminate body. So to get all solid wood, fluorcarbon strings, a slotted headstock and a padded gig bag seems a great deal.

There’s plenty of punch from this Uma ukulele, with lots of volume and a brightness and chime that’s very attractive, especially when there’s some richness from the mahogany in there too. If feels nice to play - I always find I can set these Uma ukes up to play very comfortable, and it’s nicely put together and finished in gloss.

When you get a high end ukulele, my descriptons can go on and on - describing all the various features. But in the case of the UK-20SS, there’s not that much to describe, but what I can tell you is it punches well above its weight in the price scale, plays nicely and sounds really good too - and after all, what else do you want in a uke, really?
