This is a b-stock item, with a small patch on the fingerboard which is slightly scuffed. These instruments are made from fibgreglass and plastic and while they’re generally excellent, in my first batch I discovered there were a couple with a slightly raised fret from the mould they’re produced in. Happily I found that I was able to file this down invisibly - but… not until I had tried to remove the small area of ‘flashing’ from the fret with a craft knife. This worked, but I slipped and the blade scuffed the fingerboard slightly (I have since discovered my regular files do the job without this risk). If you ever wonder how I learn how to do things? Well, it’s like this… doing it wrong! The fret is right, it plays really nice but there is the small mark. It’s hard to see so in the photo I have greatly increased the contrast in the photo to make the patch stand out more.
