B-STOCK Millar BR-260WG All Solid Rosewood Tenor Ukulele
This is a brand new instrument, made from all solid Bolivian Rosewood (also called Pau Ferro). It’s a rich sounding uke, with a powerful tone. There’s a mellow nature to it too, but that was a bit too much to the fore with the strings it came with, for me (black nylon). So I had these replaced with aNueNue Black Water fluorocarbon strings which gave more directness and clarity, while keeping the character of the wood. However, when it came it had an unusual way of stringing, with loops over the bridge, which looked very smart. I got my colleague to recreate it and he did a good job - but the tension of fluorocarbon strings obviously didn’t mix with this method and when I got up to pitch with the first string, the loop popped and made a tiny mark in the top (pictured).
Other than that it is new, and now strung with its new strings sensibly!
The BR-260WG tenor has a 35mm nut width and geared Der Jung tuners.
