DISCONTINUED Kala KA-KOA-T Tenor Ukulele
This is a new, and yet discontinued model. What’s that then? Well, it’s new stock and a new model that’s come out (new to the UK at least), but it has already been discontinued as the Indonesian factory that makes it has announced a 20% price rise… so before it could get going, it’s not going to carry on. The plus side is, there’s a nice uke here at a much lower price.
The KA-KOA-T has a nice looking laminate koa body with a satin finish. It’s genuine Hawaiian koa - although that is a veneer (and won’t get better with age - so if you research it and see that written elsewhere, well, that’s not the case). However, it does sound nice from the off, with plenty of shine and chime, backed up with some nice warmth and strong mid-tones.
There are various aesthetic features with are nice, like the dark binding, contrasting soundhole rosette and the black face to the headstock. It has a 35mm nut and is equipped with D’addario Titanium nylon strings.
Of course, I got my stock at a good rate because they’re not going to be carried on in future, but just a word about the price. It looks fabulous as I only have the full retail price to go on. To be honest, that would have been too high for me… Yes, it’s a good deal, but not quite as good perhaps as the new price would suggest! (I am not very good at the hard sell, am I?!)
Sorry, I can’t send anything from the special offers section to the EU.
