This is a discontinued model from the house brand of Risa ukuleles. They’re not generally available in the UK as they’re made in factories who also produce ukes for big name brands in the UK and USA. As a result, while good - they’re not vastly different to other, more established brand names - and therefore not worth bringing in. Good, but not different enough. However, now discontinued and available at a silly price to me… I couldn’t resist!

This model is a thin body travel tenor - so a regular tenor body, made from laminate mahogany with a thin profile body. It is supplied with a gig bag, geared tuners and Aquila strings. Impressively, it is also fitted with a passive pickup with a soundhole volume control, allowing you to use it with an amp as well. The nut width is a generous 37mm.

Despite the thin body, the sound is pretty explosive, with excellent projection and volume. And they’re cheap enough to not worry too much about should you decide to take one on your holidays!

The jack socket is off to one side on the bottom of the uke and can’t be used a strap button. So if you want to add a button (or two), you can do that by clicking here.
