This is a discontinued model from the house brand of Risa ukuleles. They’re not generally available in the UK as they’re made in factories who also produce ukes for big name brands in the UK and USA. As a result, while good - they’re not vastly different to other, more established brand names - and therefore not worth bringing in. Good, but not different enough. However, now discontinued and available at a silly price to me… I couldn’t resist!

This model is a solid acacia top tenor. While acacia is quite dense and can lack a bit of resonance, the top here is nice and thin, and the overall build quite nice, so there’s some brightness and a pleasant chime, in with a bit of woody acacia warmth. This is aided by the strings, which are clear fluorocarbon.

It also has geared tuners and a spacious 37mm nut width. If you try and find this model online, it’s described elsewhere as koa - but it’s definitely solid acacia, not koa from Hawaii. No bad thing (but a bit of a naughty trick).
