ONE OFF Baton Rouge V2-BE Electro Baritone Ukulele - Octave Low GCEA Tuning
This is a new instrument, which has been customised. The ‘fairly basic but good’ Baton Rouge baritone ukulele has had a passive pickup fitted. It also has a gig bag (which it wouldn’t have as standard), and it has been fitted with Guadalupe octave low GCEA strings. So these are REALLY low, a full octave below a tenor ukulele with a low G, and lower than a standard baritone in DGBE.
I recently made up this order for a customer on request and enjoyed playing with it, so I have prepared another so people can get one, ‘off the shelf’. If you’re wondering about the price, that’s just the constituent parts of the order (The V2-B is £119, pickup £65, strings £22 and gig bag £17.50).
I do like this set up as an alternative but I would suggest that it is for people who would like to pick - perhaps classical tunes or other melody based work. If you strum it works, but it is quite a busy, muddy sound. If I had one I would exclusively pick I think.
The V2-B has a 38mm nut and the passive pickup doubles as a strap button.

Please note - items in my special orders section can only be ordered online, and can't be tried in store. Also, they're available to UK customers only.
