I have a pair of these instruments which are brand new. They’re very nice instruments that look fab, but I just don’t find them articulate enough with the strings they have on (Aquila). The solid mahogany gives some nice warmth and for me, it’s crying out for some fluorocarbon strings to go on and balance that warmth out, rather than the Aquila’s which don’t seem to elicit any sparkle - which is a shame as they look quite sparkly! I knew, having seen the concert model before, that I’d find this and planned to make it a project to find the right strings and offer those as an upgrade. But… two months since I paid for them, I am no closer to doing and too busy to suspect I’ll do it any time soon! So I am going to move them on at a bargain price for now, and perhaps re-visit it in future. They look great and I’m convinved they can be much improved in sound to, with the right match.
