This is an all solid mahogany tenor ukulele from Kala, released late in 2025. It’s a really nice instrument with loads going for it… but perhaps as it’s ‘standard’ (standard and good), it was a little lost in the raft of new releases that Kala were also debuting at the time. To get it out and into the market in a broader way, it is currently on special offer. I’ve taken advantage of that offer with a small number of Kala Waterfall tenor ukes. I have passed the discount on with these, but when they’re gone they’re gone (and I’ll get it listed properly as a regular stock item at the regular price - as it’s a good ‘un).

It has been designed to meet the desires of the modern ukulele market, with a good value all solid mahogany body and a wider, 38mm nut. Although many Kala ukes still come supplied with Aquila strings, this new Waterfall model is equipped with clear fluorocarbon strings from D’addario. These are a good option, adding clarity, volume and definition to the sonic mix, alongside some nice, traditional mahogany warmth.

The waterfall name is to do with the edges of the uke, which are strongly and smoothly chamfered to create a very smooth, comfortable edge as the top falls away to the sides. That sounds a bit la-de-da… in short it’s nice to hold and play because the edges are really smooth!

It comes with a lightly padded Kala bag as well.
