This is a used instrument, made in the UK by the luthier Paul Barnard in his workshop in Oswestry. It is from 2016, but has been lightly played and well cared for, so is still in very good condition.

The body is made from solid African mahogany, with a light, hand applied gloss lacquer flatted back to a satin lustre. It’s fitted with Living Water fluorocarbon strings, good quality friction pegs and is supplied in a pod case, and has a 35mm nut width.

If you are looking for a traditional soprano tone, with an old time mahogany warmth and gorgeous bark, then this lovely instrument should definitely be considered. It’s lovely and rich, and gives a depth that is really suprising for a small instrument. I can’t tell if the time has made the sound open up, or if it was just top notch from the start, but it’s certainly lovely to listen to, and nice to play too.
