aNueNue UT-200HB Hummingbird Tenor Ukulele
What is the UT-200HB from aNueNue? Well… it’s a Moon Bird in essence, the company’s flagship tenor ukulele, but with exquisitely crafted and executed hummingbird inlays. These have been done so beautifully, using mother of pearl and coloured stone. Inlays aren’t unique, there are plenty of instruments that have them… but these are really stunning in how they’ve been done. The jury is out on whether you like them or not! But if you do, you can see the many hours of painstaking work that have gone into doing them so well.
Aside from that? Well… the main point is that the UT-200HB is a fantastic sounding ukulele. The Moon Bird is one of those instruments that has, over the years, received a lot of hype. But one of the few that in those circumstances, really justifies in. I have had so many comments over the years who have received one and got in touch to say ‘now I see what all the fuss is about’.
The Humming Bird ukulele is made from beautiful, tightly grained Swiss spruce, and dark, high grade rosewood. The all solid woods and the innovative bracing used in these tenors gives them volume and depth in spades. The highs are high, the lows are rich, and the blend together is loud, smooth and explosive.
This ukulele is supplied with aNueNue’s own (very popular) Black Water fluorocarbon strings, and their gorgeous blue hard case. Gotoh UPT’s, brilliant rear-facing, lightweight geared tuners complete the picture.
For many people who by a Moon Bird, that’s their final ukulele purchase, as to better it might well take a big leap in budget. That could well be the case with this instrument too. If you’re looking for ‘the one’, and want to stand out from crowd with this one’s individual flair, the UT-200HB could be for you.
