Enya's Nova U Pro tenor ukulele is an interesting model, made of a blend of carbon fibre and polycarbonate. And despite its fairly thin body, it kicks out plenty of volume (as much as an average tenor ukulele made of traditional materials anyway)

The sound is clear, and bright, with a nice chiming, bell-like sound - much livlier than I was expecting. It has D'addario Titanium strings fitted, good quality geared tuners and is equipped with a lightweight pod case, in a package that includes a capo and spare strings.

This 'pro' model is an upgrade over the regular Nova U series, with Enya adding an increased amount of carbon fibre into the the mix, as well as replacing the regular series's polycarbonate frets, with proper metal ones (with very smooth ends).

Enya are a tricky one for an independent ukulele specialist. I don't usually offer brands who sell direct to Amazon, but these are unusual so I like to have them in stock. They DO need adjustment, particularly to the action (which is, frankly, too high out of the box), so I'm relying on people shopping wisely with someone who'll take care of these little niggles.

The Enya Nova U Pro tenor ukulele has a wider nut width that standard, just shy of 38mm. For those used to standard width, this doesn't represent a great deal of adjustment - but the extra space is particularly handy for those with chunkier fingertips.
