Millar CD-260W All Solid Cedar & Rosewood Tenor Ukulele
This CD-260W from Millar is an all solid tenor ukulele, with a cedar top and Bolivian rosewood back and sides. It's a really pretty, well made and comfortable uke to play - with a sumptuous, clear voice. So that's specification, looks, finish, playability and sound all covered in the first paragraph!
The top is biscuit-brown, which sets off the maple binding very well, together with the maple and rosewood rope inlays and soundhole rosette. Fitted to the headstock slotted headstock are brushed metal finished, smooth-turning geared tuners.
The CD-260W tenor is well set up and free-playing - just a pleasure to play. The nut width of 35mm is what I usually play and suits me best so that's a plus for me! It is fitted with Worth Brown strings, which bring the best out of this instrument, with a lovely ring to them, fine balance between the bass and trebles and plenty of volume. It's a great all rounder - capable of handling anything, it simply sounds great.
That sound is more impressive than many higher priced ukuleles I’ve tried - Millar have really got things right with this model in their small workshop in Taiwan, where this is made.
