Ohana PKT-70G All Solid Spruce and Mahogany Tenor Pineapple Ukulele
The Ohana PKT-70G pineapple tenor ukulele has lots going for it. The pineapple shape has, in recent times, been more and more popular - in part as it’s a little bit unusual and appeals to people’s collections - and in part as it offers a little more at the bass end of the tonal spectrum than the equivalent model with a regular shape. So, you get a bit more of a rounded tone. In this instance there’s also a gloss finish, some impressive-looking abalone details, great quality Grover tuners and all solid spruce and mahogany too.
This PKT-70G has a 36mm nut width, and feels nice to play when set up here at World of Ukes. While that pineapple body does deliver extra bass, the solid spruce top also delivers on the treble side, making a nice high/low combination that balances out very well.
You can, at the bottom of the page, add various extras, including a fitted low G - which this uke is a good candidate for given that spruce top packs enough of a punch to compete with those low tones. Strap buttons and a gig bag are other options you might consider (as it’ll fit my regular tenor bags - but NOT the hard case, given the shape!)
