This the X2-TM tenor ukulele from ‘Oli. This is a brand created by Andrew Kitakis in Hawaii, using an excellent Indonesian factory - who together have created something really special. The combination of the excellent build quality and the Kitakis knowledge of the market provides an instrument that looks great, sounds excellent and plays really well… so the full package really!

What you do find with ‘Oli is that there are loads and loads of different models and new ones come out all the time. On the face of it, this X2-TM might not be the most exciting of them - given that it’s made from mahogany (as opposed to a more exotic looking wood). But it is amongst my favourites of all the models I have tried on account of the great balance between mahogany richness (accentuated by the fitted low G), and the sparkling, ringing highs (which ring out beautifully with the fitted Uke Logic fluorocarbon strings).

Now just because mahogany isn’t particularly fancy looking, it doesn’t mean the ‘Oli X2-TM isn’t a looker. Lots of features combine to make one handsome looking uke, including hardwood binding with a lovely comfort edge and really pretty, classy looking British racing green purfling. You also have tamarind position markers on the fingerboard, an ebony rosette and an ebony faceplate with a kalo plant (native to Hawaii) inlaid in mahogany.

These instruments have a 36.5mm nut width and a gently radiussed fretboard - which follows the curve of your finger and can help people achieve cleaner barre chords. A great quality hard case is also included.

At the bottom of the page you’ll find optional extras, like strap buttons. You can ignore the hard case / bag options as the ‘Oli X2-TM comes with a case, and a low G too.
