This is Issue 46 of UKE Magazine, a 60 page printed magazine for ukulele players with stacks of content aimed at helping you improve your skills.

The publication has been part of the UK’s ukulele scene since early 2015, and has been informing and entertaining players across the world since then, always beautifully designed and always with plenty of tips and lessons to help polish your playing.

In this issue, Christopher Davis-Shannon discusses the importance of melody and provides pointers on how best to approach jazz on the uke. Phil Doleman takes you through a melancholy blues number. Sam Muir helps you to play a campanella piece by Ignatius Sancho. Mike Haysom looks at ukulele music theory and how to express yourself and add colour to your music. There’s a lullaby to play, written by Choan Galvez, and Anne Ku shows you how to play a Japanese folk tune, Sakura. Also, Matt Stead looks at common mistakes with your strumming and how to fix them. And if your barre chords need work, Marc Gallagher gives you ten tips to get better at them!

The content doesn’t end there, as we talk to Alice Bulmer, who coaches ukulele players online - often those who have come to music later in life. Guy Hargreaves of the Ukulele Orchestra of Great Britain offers reflections on life with the band with his North American tour diary. There’s a feature on AI in the ukulele world, and its influence on ukulele retailers and uke teachers. And Opera-lele interview Dani Joy and Perry Stauffer, ukulele artists and organisers of the Reno Ukulele Festival.

You can also get to grips with the latest gear and how to look after your uke. We have five detailed reviews of new ukulele models, a feature on ukulele tuners and how to maintain them and Ukulele Saz goes through her favourite gear, what she loves and why it works for her.

Now, if that’s not worth the price on the cover, which is less than half the price of a single ukulele lesson!? Added to that, it’s a high quality publication, with fantastic design and photography. Even the paper quality is great! In fact, it’s the best ukulele magazine in the world. There, I said it!
