UKE Magazine Issue 47 - September 2026

from £5.75

This is a pre-order. The magazine is due to be distributed in mid September.

This is Issue 47 of UKE Magazine, a 60 page printed magazine for ukulele players with stacks of content aimed at helping you improve your skills.

The publication has been part of the UK’s ukulele scene since early 2015 and has been informing and entertaining players across the world ever since, always beautifully designed and with plenty of tips and lessons to help polish your playing.

In this issue, Matthew Quilliam discusses his career, the split stroke and gives a series of handy hints on improving your chord changes. There’s an interview with Sabine Walter about her love of Bach on the ukulele, in which she also shares her ukulele tips, while Mike Haysom looks at open and closed voicings. Phil Doleman invites you to try playing his top five favourite blues riffs, and Sam Muir discusses the importance of building a repertoire. Matt Hicks looks at the science behind stage fright and gives you the tools to cope. There are also features from Elisabeth Pfeiffer, Opera-Lele and Rita Braga, giving you plenty of skills and advice to improve your uke playing.

There’s gear too, with plenty of new ukuleles reviewed, and a piece from German luthier Tom Ziegenspeck on his new invention to improve your tone, the ‘double backer’. All of this, plus tunes to try and home and much more.

You can order a single copy, or if you prefer to save a bit of money, you can subscribe for a year at a time (no recurring payments). To do that, visit the subscriptions page.
