Ohana Fluorocarbon Ukulele Strings - For Soprano, Concert and Tenor
These are Ohana ukulele strings, sets that have been sourced from Japan and made from fluorocarbon. In their description on their website they describe the sound as ‘giving your ukulele a fresh, clear sound with plenty of projection’. Having tried these I think they got the description bang on. Which is good, as it saves me a job!
They are available in four variants. There’s a clear fluorocarbon string set for soprano or concert uke (meaning they’ll fit either), and you can get those with a high G, or a low G (an unwound, fluorocarbon one). The same is true for tenor ukulele, with sets for high G and a set with a low G instead. Again, that’s an unwound string.
Given they’re made in Japan, it’s possible they come from Worth Strings (I have no evidence for this, other than that they seem very nice strings, like Worth are!) Certainly they seem a good choice. They’re thin but not too thin. Bright but not too bright. A sensible option then, which should suit most players.
There’s a video demo if you click additional info below, which shows these strings on an Ohana tenor, compared with the Aquila strings that model usually comes with.
