Pepe Romero Fluorocarbon Ukulele Strings, for Soprano, Concert and Tenor, plus Baby Baritone
These US-made Pepe Romero fluorocarbon ukulele strings have a smooth finger feel, a medium tension and deliver brightness and clarity. Although some fluorocarbon strings can feel very thin and a little harsh on your fingertips, these are a medium gauge and give lots of volume without feeling like they’re slicing your fingers!
There are a number of different sets, all made by LaBella. The US1 are for soprano or concert ukuleles and have a high G. If you’re after a low G for soprano or concert, the Romero US2 set has a wound low G included instead of the high G. Similarly, the UT1 set is for high G tenor ukes, and the low G set for tenors is the UT2 set.
Also available, for tenor ukes, are the UBB strings, also known as baby baritone strings. These are DGBE tuning, like a standard baritone, but have been developed to work on a tenor scale. So, if you want to try a baritone but have a tenor uke, you can use these excellent strings (which really work well) on your tenor uke and get DGBE tuning. The low D and G strings on that set are wound. I am very impressed with these - they really do simply make your tenor sound like a baritone uke!
