I used to sell these Savarez strings a long time ago, in the early 2010’s, and then they dropped out of my supplier’s catalogue, unfortunately. This was a shame as they were a real favourite of mine, nicely balanced, with good clarity and a nice bit of ‘body’ to them as well. I used to string my own uke with them at one point (as in, they were my favourite overall for a while, but then I tried something else, and something else - I think I just like trying out new strings). They were certainly really good and worth a try, and now they are back. It turned out I just had to ask!

These sets, which are 140R for soprano / concert and 150R, for tenor, are made from ‘Alliance Composite Fibres’. What’s that then? Nope, can’t tell you. But I understand they’re fluorocarbon, and that rings true because… well… they ring true! They’re the string choice of L.Luthier brand ukuleles and they don’t sound too bad!

I know that the ‘best ukulele strings’ search is an impossible holy grail, but these are definitely good ones, ones I’d recommend.

They’re available in high G format only. Like other Savarez strings, they’re made in France.
