This is the Enya Nova U concert ukulele, an acoustic ukulele designed for travel. It is made of a blend of polycarbonate and carbon fibre, and is durable and very neatly made. The sound has a really nice chime to it, and while it isn't the loudest ukulele ever, it certainly has much volume than I'd expect from a thin body ukulele that's not made of wood - let's call it average volume.

I had to think about stocking these ukes as Enya have done a few things that, as a retailer, I don't like - chiefly selling via Amazon at knockdown prices to get the brand name and model out there. If you get a good one, that's good as a customer, but selling a ukulele when you can find one at cost price on Amazon isn't good business. Thankfully, they've promised not to do this in future, and if there are any supplies there, they're older models that had potential issues with fret wear that have now been resolved.

With that out of the way, the positives of this instrument come to the fore. It is tough, and even waterproof to a degree (the open geared tuners are gold coloured metal, so not great to get those wet). Certainly if you took it camping and got caught in a shower playing outdoors you'd be ok! It plays nicely too, has fitted strap buttons and comes nicely packaged with a capo, strap and spare strings. There's a rigid case with it too, which is stiff enough to provide decent protection, although isn't a hard case. And it looks very smart in white!
