The Millar TA-240G is a concert ukulele made from all solid acacia, with lots going for it. The wood is gorgeous, and the gloss finish and build quality is impeccable. It sounds crisp and clear and, in particular, excels high up the neck - making it great for players who are looking to progress further towards the dusty end of the fretboard.

If you look at this sort of price range - for all solid, gloss finish acacia models, there's not a huge selection of candidates. One popular model at a similar price, beginning with P (o-no, have I given it away?!) is a nice instrument but this one... well, it just pips it in terms of sound. When I saw pips it, I actually means pips it by quite a bit!

The bridge and fingerboard are rosewood, with a bone saddle and 35mm nut. The neck is cleverly shaped to flatten out beneath the first fret, giving you a great anchor point for your thumb when playing chords. The strings are D'addario Titanium which lend themselves to the koa-esque acacia, and playing Hawaiian style, percussive music. The tuners are very good quality Korean, chrome geared affairs, which, as a nice added touch, feature acacia buttons.

The TA-240G is a quality ukulele, with handsome looks, lovely finish and a clear, shimmering tone - which punches above its weight, particularly in comparison to other similarly priced models.
