This is a new, unused instrument. I am discounting it as it hasn’t sold well, so I am going to sell it and use the money for new models. This could be because it’s sold cheaply elsewhere, because there are other more attractive alternatives at the normal price, or because I’ve not done a good enough job of selling it!

This all solid Hawaiian koa Kiwaya ukulele, the KMC-K, is a replica of a vintage Martin 5K concert, constructed in Kiwaya's custom shop in Japan. I can show you pictures of the gorgeous, master-grade koa. I can tell you how the sound is crisp, sweet and full, but what's more difficult to get across is just how light this instrument is.

It's one where, when you pick it up, it almost floats up to your hands, the tonewood is so thin. This allows the wood to resonate, and the satin finish allows it's fullness to come forth, with more warmth that you might typically expect from koa. It chimes beautifully, with the Worth Brown strings, and has plenty of volume too.

OK, there's a drawback, an expertly made custom-shop instrument like this does, with the best koa available, is expensive. But with its vintage styling, it's an heirloom-quality concert ukulele, that would be the pride of anyone's collection for years.

Completing the picture are Gotoh UPT tuners, the best in the business, which look like friction pegs (and have a lightweight nature to match), but work with gears so are super simple to use.
