UKE Magazine Issue 15 - September 2018
The fifteenth issue of UKE Magazine features the Irish star, George Elmes on the cover. George has moved from his native Ireland to pursue a living from the ukulele in China, giving an insight into life and the uke scene in that country, as well as his YouTube and performing success.
We look around the globe in other ways too, talking to the boss of aNueNue ukuleles, and reporting back from both the Czech Ukulele Festival and the Ukulele World Congress in Indiana. And, while we’re at it with the Irish theme, we talk to members of the uke jams in Belfast and Dublin.
There is music to play from Phil Doleman and Plastic Jeezus, Percy Copley shares his knowledge and tips, we review a range of Kiwaya ukuleles and we start the first in a series of genre-specific ukulele features, with punk on the ukulele. And that’s just scratching the surface of another packed issue of UKE Magazine.
Independently produced, and beautifully designed, this 60 page publication is the UK’s magazine for ukulele players, with a focus on the British scene, but an outlook that takes in the best of ukulele from around the world.
