This is the electro version of the Black Whale tenor ukulele from aNueNue.

It’s the same as the acoustic version which you can read about by clicking here, but with the addition of a Air Air pickup. This system is top drawer now (in its early iterations it was prone to a bit of feedback), with a gorgeous clean sound and the ability to blend between undersaddle pickup and internal mic.

This is a double top uke, with a layer of Western red cedar sandwhiched together with attractive flamed maple, which is given a dark stain. This system seems to get the best from both woods, with the warm, mellow tones of maple blending with the brighter cedar perfectly. It’s different to a laminate top, and in a way, it’s almost like a marriage of tonewoods to create a new superwood. It’s certainly a super tone!

The aNueNue Black Whale E comes with a blue ukulele hard case, gotoh UPT tuners, a 36.5mm nut and aNueNue black water fluorocarbon strings. It comes with quite a price tag too, but it’s a seriously elite ukulele - one of the finest I’ve ever played and that includes some that have cost far more than this. It seems a bit of a stretch to be trying to convince you that this instrument is excellent value - but in comparison to other high end ukes, it’s an accurate assessment.
